EMI Holdings Management acquires 100% of the Colombian company Servicio de Emergencias Regional SER S.A.

EMI Holdings Management (emi) acquired 100% of Servicio de Emergencias Regional SER S.A., a company that provides ambulance services and medical care, thus strengthening emis presence in the Colombian market with operations in 6 of the countrys most important cities.

Bogotá, August 11, 2011. In recent days EMI Holdings Management (emi), the parent company of the leading Latin American ambulance and medical care group of companies headquartered in Colombia, announced the purchase of Servicio de Emergencias Regional- SER. With this transaction, the emi group increases its presence in Colombia and strengthens the services it offers, as it absorbs a large team of more than 120 professionals and specialists in the 3 main cities of the coffee-growing region.
Following the acquisition of SER, emi will offer its broad network of services and emergency products to its clients in the coffee-growing region, in addition to offering them its national and international coverage in the countries where it operates and is the market leader: Colombia, Uruguay, Venezuela, Ecuador, Panama, and El Salvador.
Currently, Falck owns 63.1% of emi, and the private equity fund Tribeca Homecare Fund owns 36.9%. Through emi the joint work of these two companies is to provide improved medical care and ambulance attention in the region, increasing the portfolio of services available to its users.

SER was founded in 1999 and has been a leader in the provision of ambulance and homecare services in Pereira, Armenia, and Manizales. SER currently has more than 35.000 subscribers in the region and the company operates a large fleet of ambulances and homecare vehicles and has 200 employees in addition to an extensive network of physicians.
emi expects to continue to expand to more cities of Latin America, to thus guarantee excellent service and to quickly and competently assist its members in the case of an accident or illness.
